Why a catalog, not another green check

A backup nobody can locate is not a backup. The catalog is the inventory of what actually exists — and it exposes the gaps instead of hiding them.

• Locate every copy — the catalog and the folder viewer answer "where is my backup?".
• Don't trust green — a plaintext or unconfirmed encryption, a stale backup job or a missing restore proof is called out.
• See the gaps — a copy missing at the destination or too little history shows up explicitly.
